Authority SmartTAX Unveiled: A Unified Digital Revenue Platform for Ondo State

Authority Global Ltd has unveiled Authority SmartTAX, a digital revenue and tax administration platform built to serve Ondo State's Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) under the tagline "One State. One Revenue Platform. Efficient. Transparent. Accountable." The platform is designed as a unified system connecting taxpayers, revenue officers, and all 18 local government areas of Ondo State onto one digital infrastructure — a departure from the fragmented, largely manual tax processes that have historically slowed revenue collection and made compliance difficult for both taxpayers and administrators. For taxpayers, Authority SmartTAX includes a self-service dashboard, an online tax calculator, and a QR-code-based system for verifying Tax Clearance Certificates (TCC) and other documents. Billing, payment, and receipt generation are handled digitally, removing much of the friction associated with traditional tax offices. On the administrative side, the platform gives revenue officers a dedicated portal for processing and tracking tax records, while a state command centre provides oversight across all 18 LGA portals. The system is built with role-based access control and audit logging, intended to support accountability at every level of the revenue chain. "Efficient, transparent, accountable" is more than a slogan for the project — it reflects a broader push across Nigerian states to modernize revenue collection through digital infrastructure, reduce leakages, and make it easier for citizens and businesses to meet their tax obligations without unnecessary bureaucracy. Authority SmartTAX is being developed by Authority Global Ltd, a Nigerian technology and agribusiness holding company also behind ventures including Bems Farm, Authority Farm, and Studio Arella.
